UNIL Open Access policy

UNIL is preparing an Open Access policy to guide and encourage its researchers to comply with the ever growing number of Open Access constraints.

The rectorate is waiting until swissuniversities issues its recommendation on Open Access policies and until SERVAL is upgraded to better respond to our researchers needs.

All the research community will be informed of all new developments on this front.

Green Open Access support

UNIL encourages its researchers to follow the Green Road towards Open Access.

In order to enable them to fulfil their OA mandates, UNIL offers their researchers its institutional repository, SERVAL, to self-archive and follow the Green Road.

UNIL researchers can request funding for Green OA for books through the Fonds de publications UNIL.

Gold Open Access financial support

For UNIL researchers who are funded by the SNSF, all Gold OA fees (for books, book chapters and articles) can be claimed directly from the SNSF.

For UNIL researchers who are not funded by the SNSF, UNIL encourages following the Green OA Road (self-archiving in SERVAL). If the Gold OA is still preferred, book Gold OA fees can be covered by the SNSF. For articles, UNIL has negotiated special conditions with the following publishers for Gold OA publishing:

2017 Institutional Open Access Survey
